Online, Self-Paced Course

Our online, self-paced course is great for individuals that cannot, or do not desire to, attend a live training workshop.. If you prefer to participate in a live training workshop, please click HERE.

In this self-paced course, participants will receive a full and comprehensive birth doula training. They will receive the tools and knowledge to function as doulas in a real life setting. Participants will receive instructions on how to complete their birth doula certification portfolio.

Once the course is complete and the portfolio is submitted, the trainers will review it. When assessment has been completed and approved, participants will receive their official birth doula certificate and have the title “Birth, Baby! Academy Certified Birth Doula”.

• Complete the 3-day workshop OR the online self-paced program
• Assignments directly related to the training
• Meet with 3 other birth doulas AND 3 other perinatal professionals
• Complete the required reading
• Attend a childbirth education class (recommendations will be made, but this is your choice)
• Complete Lactation Management for Doulas and Birth Workers from LER
• Outline your business plan/strategy
• Create a resource list of local birth professionals for prospective clients
• Complete 3 certifying births using Pathway 1 or Pathway 2 (outlined below)
• Complete and submit your portfolio within 2 years of training

This list of requirements is not meant to be intimidating. These requirements are to ensure you’re entering into doula work as prepared as you can be.
