Respect for Autonomy
Participants in our doula training program commit to respecting the autonomy and self-determination of the individuals and families they serve. They will honor the decisions, preferences, and choices of clients without judgment or coercion.
Confidentiality
Participants will maintain strict confidentiality regarding all information shared by clients, ensuring that sensitive personal information remains private and is not disclosed without explicit consent.
Non-Discrimination
Our doula training program participants pledge to provide care and support to individuals and families from all backgrounds, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, socio-economic status, or any other characteristic. Discrimination of any form is strictly prohibited.
Informed Consent
Participants will ensure that clients are fully informed about their options, risks, and benefits related to pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care. Informed consent will be obtained before providing any support or assistance.
Integrity and Professionalism
Participants will uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in their interactions with clients, colleagues, and the broader community. They will maintain boundaries, avoid conflicts of interest, and act in a manner consistent with the values of the doula profession.
Continuous Learning
Our doula training program participants commit to ongoing professional development and lifelong learning. They will stay informed about current best practices, evidence-based care, and emerging trends in maternity care to provide the highest quality support to clients.
Collaboration and Referral
Participants will collaborate effectively with other healthcare providers and professionals involved in the care of clients, recognizing the importance of teamwork and interdisciplinary communication. They will refer clients to appropriate resources and specialists when necessary, ensuring comprehensive care.
Cultural Competence
Our doula training program emphasizes the importance of cultural competence and sensitivity in providing support to diverse populations. Participants will strive to understand and respect the cultural beliefs, traditions, and practices of clients, adapting their support accordingly.
Boundaries and Self-Care
Participants will maintain clear boundaries in their professional relationships with clients, recognizing the importance of self-care and maintaining their own physical, emotional, and mental well-being. They will seek support and supervision as needed to prevent burnout and maintain resilience.

Participants will advocate for the rights and preferences of clients, empowering them to make informed decisions and access the resources they need to have safe, satisfying, and respectful childbirth experiences. They will work to promote systemic change and improve maternity care for all individuals and families.
